(IraqiNews.com) Pentagon spokesman Peter Cook announced on Wednesday, that the international coalition killed “al-Qaeda” French explosives expert in an air raid in Syria.

Cook stated in a press conference followed by IraqiNews.com, “The French national David Drugeon, an explosives expert of al-Qaeda, has been eliminated in an airstrike carried out by the international coalition near the Syrian city of Aleppo,” pointing out that, “Drugeon had trained extremists in Syria and planned to carry out attacks on targets in the West.”

According to the US Department of Defense, Drugeon participated in the preparation of attacks on the United States and its allies before he was killed in a US airstrike in July.

Peter Cook noted that the 25-year-old French national was a member of the Khorasan Group, a small cell of al-Qaeda militants who have coordinated with Nusra Front in Syria.
