Australia carries out its first air raid against ISIS in Syria

(IraqiNews.com) The Australian Ministry of Defense announced yesterday, that its air force had carried out its first mission in Syria, stressing at the same time that the aircraft, which participated in the mission, returned to their bases without firing their weapons.
The ministry said in a statement, “Two fighter jets “F-18 Hornet,” another aircraft with a system for early warning and control and “KC 30-A” to refuel in the air participated in the mission.”
The Australian Air Force is involved in the coalition led by the United States against the ISIS organization, but its role is limited so far to refueling and intelligence gathering operations.
