(IraqiNews.com) Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan announced on Wednesday, that the Turkish forces had killed three thousand members of the so-called ISIS in Syria and Iraq, asserting that no other country is fighting ISIS as Turkey is.

Erdogan said in a press statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “There have been those who have … been vile by showing Turkey as a country that helps ISIS. No country in the world has conducted the struggle we are conducting.”

Turkey, which is a NATO member, was initially reluctant partner in the US-led coalition against ISIS and faced criticism in the earlier stages of the Syrian war for failing to stop the flow of foreign fighters crossing its borders in order to join radical organizations.
