(Iraqinews.com) Baghdad – the British newspaper “The Independent” revealed that the US strategy to counter ISIS in Iraq will avoid sending American soldiers to participate in another ground war.

The newspaper said :”US President Barack Obama stressed that his country does not have a complete strategy to defeat ISIS militants in Iraq and Syria,” pointing out that “the figures published by the US Department of Defense this week support these statements.”

The newspaper added that “the cost of air strikes against ISIS, which began last August, amounted to 7.1 billion US dollars, an average of $ 9 million a day,” noting that “this figure seems large, but compared to the wars fought by the United States and the size of the Pentagon budget, which is about US $ 600 billion, it is considered a small amount of money.”
