ISIS kidnaps 220 Christian Assyrians in northern Syria

(IraqiNews.com) The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights announced Thursday, that 220 Christian Assyrians have been kidnapped from villages in northern Syria by the ISIS organization in the last 3 days.

The observatory said in a statement reported by Reuters and followed by IraqiNews.com that “The ISIS group has kidnapped at least 220 people from the villages inhabited by Christian Assyrians in northeastern Syria in an attack that lasted for three days.”

“The kidnappings occurred when ISIS managed to seize 10 villages inhabited by the Christian Assyrians near the city of al-Hasakah, which was mostly controlled by the Kurds,” it added.
