Hama (SyriaNews.media) Violent clashes broke out between Syrian regime forces and the Islamic State militants near al-Majbal checkpoint, in the eastern countryside of Hama, while the militants manages to capture the checkpoint, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights reported.

The observatory stated that militants from the Islamic State group engaged in clashes with the Syrian regime forces near al-Majbal checkpoint, on Ithriyah-Salmiyah road, in the eastern countryside of Hama, in the early hours of Monday, while added that the terrorist group managed to impose its control over the checkpoint.

Meanwhile, a land line exploded on a vehicle belonging to the Syrian forces in al-Masasna area, in the northern countryside of Hama, leaving an identified number of casualties, while Syrian government forces shelled several areas in the southern countryside of Hama.

In a related news, clashes continued between the Islamic State and Syrian forces in Hamima area, in eastern Homs, leaving casualties among the ranks of the two sides.
