 Russia asks Iraq to suspend operations of Erbil and Sulimaniyah airports

(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – Russian authorities have asked Iraq to cancel all flights from and to from Erbil and Sulimaniyah airports. This request has been made as Russia is preparing to launch operations against ISIS in Syria.

According to information published by some Russian websites it was stated, “Russia announced that it is planning to launch an extensive military operation inside Syria named as The Mass Destruction Operation using 160 Tupolev-22M3 and 69 Sukhoi-34 aircraft along with military submarines and warships stationed at the Mediterranean.”

“Russia also asked the officials in Iraq to suspend all flights from and to Erbil and Sulimaniyah airports during the operation period for avoiding possible loss of life and property while attack in on,” the information added.
