Homs (SyriaNews.media) The Syrian opposition announced launching Burkan al-Badeya (The Deserts Volcano) offensive, in order to foil the attempts of the Syrian government forces and their affiliated militias to reach al-Tanf crossing on the borders of Iraq, Jordan and Syria.

The factions of the Free Syrian Army issued a statement saying, “On this blessed day, we launch Burkan al-Badeya offensive to fight and eliminate Iranian and foreign militias.”

“We, the Free Syrian Army, announce the launch of the battles against these criminal organizations and groups, to retake our lands,” the statement added.

Earlier today, Syrian regime forces and their affiliated militias recaptured Dahrat Umm al-Salasel, near al-Zalf area, in eastern As-Suwayda.
