(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad- A well placed source in Baghdad informed that Turkish airstrikes against PKK guerrillas along the borders of Kurdistan Region have damaged to water supply resources of the villages near Mount Qandil.

Quoting an official from the Directorate of Water and Sewerage of Warti area, 36 km from Rawanduz in northwestern Erbil, the source said that every time Turkish warplanes bomb the area, they cause damage to the water supply network, particularly in Zargali village; which has always been on the target list.

“Village’s water supply has repeatedly been cut. The latest bombing in the area left the village without water for nearly a month,” the source informed quoting the official.

It may be mentioned here that the residents of these frequently targeted areas previously have demanded the government to pressure PKK to remove its bases from the areas.
