Turkish military kills 18 PKK militants during clashes near Syria

(IraqiNews.com) The Turkish security authorities said on Monday, that 18 Kurdish militants were killed in clashes with the Turkish security forces when they tried to flee last night from the border town of Nusaybin into Syria.

A security source said in a statement obtained by IraqiNews.com, “Security forces were conducting a security operation in Nusaybin area when clashes broke out as a group of the outlawed Kurdistan Workers’ Party members arrived in the Syrian city of al-Qamishli,” adding that, “15 PKK militants were killed during clashes in the areas of Nusaybin, Şırnak and Yüksekova.”
