(IraqiNews.com) The Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan said on Sunday, that the Russian air campaign in Syria is “a big mistake” that is unacceptable to Ankara.

The Turkish newspaper “Hurriyet” quoted Erdogan during a news conference at the airport before his departure to Belgium as saying: “At the present moment, Russia is making a big mistake, and this may be an indicator of taking a step in the isolation of Russia in this region.”

Erdogan’s comments went in the same direction as British Prime Minister David Cameron who described in earlier statements the Russian military action in Syria as a “fatal mistake.”
