Istanbul (IraqiNews.com) Turkey’s Army Troops moved towards the hills along its borders with Syria, and at least 30 tanks and armored vehicles took up positions on the hills overlooking the Syrian town Kobani as ISIS militants stray fire whilst shelling that hit Turkish soil, according to a Reuters correspondent.

During a press conference today in Istanbul, Turkish Interior Minister Efkan Ala stated, “We have taken the border under full control. We have ramped up our security measures in the Suruc region,”

Earlier today, Turkish Prime Minister Ahmed Dawood Oglu sent the Parliament two memorandums in relation to the situation along the borders with Iraq and Syria, posing a chance that Turkey would participate in operations against ISIS.

Noteworthy, Turkey has so far declined to join the US-led military operations against ISIS, but Turkish President Racep Tayyip Erdogan has said, that Turkish troops could be used to help secure a haven for the refugees fleeing Syria.
