(IraqiNews.com) On Sunday, two Turkish soldiers have been killed and 24 others were injured in a suicide attack launched by elements of the Kurdistan Workers’ Party (PKK) in a small town east of Turkey, according to a report by Anadolu news agency.

The agency said the attack targeted a security post located in the district of “Dogu Beyazit” in the state of Agri, pointing out that the escalation of violence between the Turkish army and Kurdish fighters has risen since a suicide attack by elements of the ISIS organization was carried out against a Kurdish cultural center in the town of Sorouj in the southeast of the country, which led Ankara to declare military operations against both ISIS and elements of the PKK.
