Paris (IraqiNews.com) On Monday, the United States expressed its opposition to military cooperation with Iran in Iraq, but it has said that it is open to further talks; hours after Tehran rejected American initiatives to help in the fight against Islamist extremists.

The US State Department spokeswoman Jen Psaki stated to reporters shortly after the end of a major conference in Paris on the fight against ISIS “We do not coordinate and we will not coordinate military with Tehran, maybe we will have another chance to discuss the issue of Iraq in the future.”

This came after the announcement of Khamenei that Tehran rejected an American request to discuss and cooperate with Washington on the fight against the organization of the Islamic State in Iraq and the Levant.
