Baghdad cancels Halbja cause at Higher Criminal Court

(IraqiNews.com) Halbja district associated to Sulaimaniya city of Kurdistan Region announced that “The Iraqi Central Government canceled Halbja issue at the Higher Criminal Court, describing this decision as illegal.”

Goran Adham, the Mayor of Halbja district said “For sake of personal interests of some sides, the Iraqi Government canceled Halbja case and the Faili Kurds.”

He added “The Iraqi Government tries to override this issue, this is obvious when it rejoined the officers of the former regime to service in an attempt to propitiate the Sunnis.”

Adham attributed the “Government’s carelessness about this issue to its problems with the Sunnis and Kurdistan Regional Government.”
