Barzani, Beecroft discuss CG, Kurdistan RegionG disputes

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President of Kurdistan Regional Government Nijervan Barzani discussed with the US Ambassador to Iraq Stephen Beecroft the current crisis between the Central Government of Iraq and the Kurdistan RegionG.

A statement by the KTG received by IraqiNews.com cited Sunday “Barzani assured during his meeting with Beecroft in Erbil that Kurdistan Region does not agree to run the disputed areas by one side and reject formation of Dijla Operations Command,” expressing the “readiness of Kurdistan RegionG to settle all the disputes through dialogue and according to the constitution.”

For his part, the US Ambassador appreciated the positive stance of the Kurdistan RegionG related to seriousness towards settling disputes through dialogue, the statement added.

The statement mentioned “Beecroft confirmed that the US Government exert all possible efforts to enable Baghdad and Erbil to reach a peaceful settlement through dialogue and understandings.”
