Barzani, Lavrov discuss bilateral relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, who visits Russia currently, discussed with the Russian Foreign Minister, Sergey Lavrov, the bilateral relations and the participation of the Russian companies in the investment process in Kurdistan.
A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan website reported on Thursday “Barzani met, on Thursday, with Lavrov in Moscow, where they affirmed the importance of strengthening the ties between Kurdistan Region and Russia.”
“Both sides discussed a set of crucial issues especially the relations between Russia and each of Iraq and KR,” the statement added.
“On the other hand, the meeting reviewed the role of the Russian companies in the investment sector, especially the energy and electricity sectors in Iraq and KR,” it continued.
“The Syrian crisis and its implications on Iraq and KR took place within Barzani and Lavrov’s talks,” the statement concluded.
