Bayati calls Turkmen Community to form committees to protect their areas
Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Turkman former MP, Mohamed Mahdi al-Bayati, of the Iraqi National Alliance called the Turkmen Community to defend their areas through forming Committees.
He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “We call the Turkmen, especially in Tuz-Khurmatu to form committees to defend their areas like the Kurds or Arabs,” noting that “There is a policy to displace the Turkmen from their areas.”
“The three bombings that targeted the Turkmen prove that the security situation in heading towards the worse without solutions,” he concluded.
Earlier, 87 civilians were killed and injured, on Wednesday, among them Salah il-Din Governor Undersecretary, Ahmed Abdul Wahid, and the Secretary General of the Turkmen Front, Ali Hashim, due to suicide bombing in Tuz Khurmatu district.
Security source told Iraqi News on Wednesday “A suicide bomber detonated himself amid mourning ceremony in Tuz Khurmatu of eastern Tikrit city resulted in killing (42) persons and injuring (45) others including Salah il-Din Governor Undersecretary and Secretary General of the Turkmen Front.”
“The ambulances rushed to the incident place and transported the wounded persons to a hospital while the dead bodies were sent to the morgue,” the source added.
“The security forces cordoned off the spot in anticipation of another terrorist attack,” the source concluded.
