Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Jawad al-Bazoni, of the Iraqi National Alliance described the statements of the President of Kurdistan Region, Masoud Barzani, over the formation of Dijla Operations Command as “Inaccurate.”
Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he stated “We are surprised from the Kurds’ stance over forming Dijla OC because its aim is to sustain security and does not target the Kurds because the new Iraqi regime does not have enmity to any side.”
“The Iraqi government aims to sustain security in all the areas of Iraq and it is impossible to eliminate the militias in the central and southern of Iraq and leave forces that do not being to it of northern Iraq,” he added.
“Barazani’s statements over this issue are inaccurate,” he concluded.
Earlier, the President of Kurdistan region, Masoud Barzani, said in a statement on last Monday “We will take whatever steps necessary to cancel Dijla Operations Command as the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, is not bound by the pledges he made to the country’s president.”
He added “We believed from the beginning that the TOC would be a major factor in further destabilizing the province and that it doesn’t serve the article 140 of the Iraqi permanent constitution as it is against the Kurds, democracy process and the spirit of co-existence.”
