Committee of 140 Article formed according to political deal, says Sayadi

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The independent MP, Kadhim al-Sayadi, stated “The Committee of the Article 140 of the constitution over the disputed areas was formed according to a political deal.”

In a statement received by IraqiNews.com, he assured “Reforming this committee is according to a political deal among the sides of Erbil and Najaf meetings’ alliance that includes the Kurdistani Alliance, the Iraqiya Slate and the Sadr Trend.”

“Activating this article in the next stage is against the constitution and the law,” he added.

It is worth mentioning that the Committee of the Article 140 held a meeting at the parliament and nominated MP, Mohsin al-Sadoun, as its Head and MP, Mushriq Naji as the Deputy Head.

Article 140 of the Iraqi constitution is concerned with settling the disputes over the disputed areas and the issue of Kirkuk city.
