Egyptian president al-Sisi calls Iraqi president to attend Arab Summit

 

(IraqiNews.com) President of the Republic of Iraq, Fuad Masum received an official invitation from the Egyptian president, Abdel Fattah al-Sisi to participate in the Council of the League of Arab States Conference which will be held in Sharm el-Sheikh on the 28th and 29th of March.

In the Peace Palace in Baghdad, the Iraqi president received on Thursday the ambassador of the Arab Republic of Egypt to Iraq, Hassan Ahmed Darwish, who expressed al-Sisi’s wishes of security, stability and progress to the Iraqi people.

For his part, Masum confirmed his readiness to visit Egypt and participate in the Sharm el-Sheikh conference, according to a statement issued by the Iraqi presidency.

The Iraqi president and the Egyptian ambassador also discussed bilateral relations and ways of strengthening the political, security and economic fields, as well as the latest developments on the Arab and regional arenas.

The Egyptian ambassador pointed out to the profound historical ties between the two countries, expressing his Egypt’s willingness to develop the bonds of relationship and cooperation with Iraq.
