Hakim, British Ambassador discuss upgrading bilateral relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, stressed the need for upgrading the mutual cooperation between Iraq and Britain in all the fields especially concerning the establishment of the democratic institutions in the country.

A statement by the SIIC received by IraqiNews.com cited “Hakim received the British Ambassador to Iraq and they discussed bilateral relations.”

“The British Ambassador confirmed his country’s support for the stability in Iraq, appreciating Hakim’s role in the political process and his initiatives to settle the crises,” the statement concluded.
