Hakim calls to speed up completion of Basra Sport City to host Khaliji 22

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, called the Ministry of Youth and Sport to speed up completion of Basra Sport City to host Khaliji 22 Championship in the province.

A statement by the SIIC received by IraqiNews.com cited “Hakim received the Minister of Youth and Sport, Jasim Mohamed Jaafar, at his office in Baghdad on Thursday where they discussed the latest developments concerning Basra Sport City and the visit of the delegation of Gulf Countries to check the Sport projects in Basra.”

“Both sides emphasized the importance of holding Khaliji 22 Championship in the province,” the statement added.

It is worth mentioning that Basra is supposed to host Khaliji 22 Championship in 2015 in its Sport City that is expected to be inaugurated in the next period.
