Hakim, Jaafary discuss political scene, formation of new local governments

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, discussed with Head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibrahim al-Jaafary the dialogues that were held concerning the formation of the new local governments.

A statement by the INA reported “Jaafary received on last Monday, Hakim where they discussed the most prominent issues on the Iraq political scene.”

“On the meeting’s sidelines, the two sides held a press conference during which Jaafary stressed that they evaluated during their meeting, the political movement happened some weeks ago and its influence on the formation of the new local governments,” the statement added.

“We reviewed during the meeting the results of the talks held in the provinces and agreed on continuing our contacts and supporting all the local governments and maintain the unity of the INA components along with keeping on communicating with the other alliances whether our brothers in the Iraqiya alliance or the Kurdistani alliance,” it pointed out.

“For his part, Hakim stressed the return of the vitality and harmony among the INA’s components,” assuring “We tackled the developments of the political situation including the formation of the new Provincial Councils,” the statement concluded.
