Hakim, Turkish Ambassador discuss upgrading relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Supreme Iraqi Islamic Council, Ammar al-Hakim, and the Turkish Ambassador to Iraq discussed the means of upgrading bilateral relations between the two countries.

A statement by the SIIC received by IraqiNews.com cited “Hakim received the Ambassador at his office in Baghdad on Saturday,” noting that “Hakim stressed the importance of developing relations between Iraq and Turkey in all aspects.”

“He also emphasized playing a positive role by the regional countries to sustain stability in Iraq,” the statement added.

“The Ambassador confirmed the Turkish adherence to develop its relations wit Iraq to serve the security and stability in Iraq, appreciating the recommendations of the religious authority concerning the current crisis,” the statement continued.

“The Ambassador also praised Hakim’s efforts in eliminating the disputes through his good relations will all political sides,” the statement concluded.
