Head of Legal Department within Foreign Ministry receives Head of IOM

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) Head of the Legal Department, Ambassador Waleed Shaltagh, received head of the International Organization for Migration (IOM), Ambassador William Lacy Swink, at the Baghdad International Airport.

A statement by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs received by IraqiNews.com cited “The two sides discussed Swink’s visit and meetings with Iraqi officials on high levels such as the President, Prime Minister, and Parliament Speaker.”

“They also touched upon extending the implementation of the Cooperation Agreement for five years after the approval of the cabinet to extend it, as well as Iraq’s accession the IOM constitution,” the statement added.

“Shaltagh reviewed the Iraqi government’s support to the IOM activities, requesting to hold training courses for the competent ministries within the IOM program,” the statement concluded. /End/
