Human Rights Minister, British Ambassador discuss situation of Human Rights in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Minister of Human Rights, Mohamed al-Sudani, and the British Ambassador to Baghdad discussed bilateral relations and the means of developing cooperation in addition to the situation of the human rights in Iraq.

A statement by the Ministry received by IraqiNews.com “Sudani praised the unique relations between Iraq and the UK and he hailed the role of the British Government in facilitating holding, in London, the first International Conference of exposing crimes of former regime in last 2012.”

“He assured that the file of Human Rights is supported by the Government through offices of the Ministry in provinces,” the statement added.

“He stressed that the Ministry faced many challenges since its formation like terrorism that targets the innocent citizen and the political disputes which are negatively reflected on the Governmental efforts,” the statement mentioned.

“He continued that the challenges are still hinder the Governmental efforts in sustaining the rights granted by the Constitution,” the statement indicated.

“For his part, the British Ambassador confirmed his country’s support for Iraq in all fields and its readiness to support the Ministry through training courses,” the statement concluded.
