INA MP assures intentions to amend Article 38 of Retirement law to harmonize with call of Religious Authority

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Mohammed al-Hindawi, of the Iraqi National Alliance stated that there are intentions by INA to modify Article 38 of the Retirement law to harmonize with the call of the Religious Authority.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com, he said “The parliament voted by majority on the Retirement law and there are reactions against it such as the call of the Religious Authority to cancel the privileges of the officials.”

“I want to clarify the issue over the endorsement of the this law,” he added, noting that “We were forced either to vote for this law as it is or reject it and we did not want to deprive more than three and a half Million persons from their pensions. So we voted for this law.”

“We will work on amending this Article to harmonize with the call of the Religious Authority,” he pointed out, assuring that “The statements of some political blocs were for the political propaganda because some of them were eager to endorse this law and this Article in particular.”
