Integrity Committee attributes spread of corruption in Iraq to partisan, sectarian quotas

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Integrity Committee attributed the spread of the financial and administrative corruption at the government institutions to the quotas system.

The Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Ahmed al-Jubouri, stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “The spread of corruption is created by the partisan and sectarian quotas in addition to the uncooperative stance of the political blocs in fighting it thus weakened the supervisory role of the Iraqi Parliament.”

Jubouri stressed that “The corruption phenomenon cannot be combated by reliance on the Integrity Committee alone but it needs exerted efforts from all the political sides.”

“The size of corruption at the state departments exceeds the ability of the supervisory sides in assuming their task,” he concluded.
