Iraq to receive new helicopters from Russia

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) A source from the Russian industry sector reveals that Iraq will receive another installment of Mi-35 and Mi-25 helicopters by the beginning of June.

The new installment comprises seven aircrafts and is part of Iraq’s former deal to buy aircrafts from the country.

Iraq has previously received four Mi-35 helicopters from Russia. The next installment that is to reach Iraq by the beginning of June includes four Mi-35 and three Mi-28 choppers.

According to Iraq’s $4.2 billion deal with Russia, the latter will have to supply Iraq with 43 aircrafts. The initial deal included twenty four Mi-35 and nineteen Mi-28 helicopters.

Iraq will receive the total amount of the helicopters by 2016, and these will be used to fight terrorism.
