Iraqi Cabinet approves initial agreement with Jordon, Syria to transport crude oil, gas

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Council of Ministers, announced an initial agreement with Jordan and Syria over a project to transport crude oil and gas to Aqaba and Banias ports.

The CoM cited in a statement “The Iraqi Cabinet decided in recent to commission the Ministry of Oil to sign the initial agreement between Iraq and each of Jordon and Syria to implement the project of transporting the Iraqi crude oil and gas to Aqaba and Banias ports.”

“This approval is in line with the Iraqi Government’s orientation to develop the oil and gas sector and meet the actual need to boost the oil and gas production and exportation capacity which would actively contribute in supporting the reconstruction process in Iraq,” the statement concluded.
