IS MP: Elections to be held on time

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Abdullah Gharb, of the Iraqiya Slate ruled out postponing the elections of the provincial councils that are supposed to be held on the 20th of April 2013.

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said ” The date of hold the elections is unchangeable where it was specified by the Council o Ministers and the Independent High Electoral Commission completed all the preparations to hold the elections on the 20th of April 2013.”

“The IHEC announced on the 1st of March the start of the electoral propaganda for the political blocs participating in the elections and there is no indicator on postponing the elections,” he added.

“The elections will be held on time and will not be affected by any events where those who do not want to participate are free to do so,” he concluded.
