IS warns from foregrounding Ration Card issue to cover corruption of armament contracts

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqiya Slate warned from foregrounding the issues that concern the citizens by some sides to distract the attention of the citizens away from corruption.

The spokesperson of the IS, Maysoun al-Damlouji, stated to IraqiNews.com “Some sides attempt to cover the corruption cases related to armament contracts concluded with Russia,” noting that “There are key officials involved in this case.”

“The Ration Card issue must not cover the corruption case of the armament contracts,” she added.

“The IS called the Council of Ministers to conduct urgent investigation to clarify the aspects related to this contract which was concluded without being mentioned within the financial budget,” she concluded.

The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, announced that his visit to Russia comes to make contracts for buying weapons for the Iraqi Army and to consolidate the military cooperation between the two countries.

Earlier, an informed military source stated that Iraq cancelled the armament deals with Russia.

“The deals were cancelled due to corruption issues,” the source concluded.

It is worth mentioning that Sadr criticized “The armament contracts made by the Government with Russia and Czech Republic,” describing these contracts as “Wasting the Iraq money.”

He called “The parliament to investigate these contracts.”
