Izidi MP demands to evacuate Nineveh from Kurdish forces

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Izidi Movement for Reforms and Prosperity MP Amin Farhan Jijo demanded to form a new Operations Command in the areas of the minorities situated in Nineveh and evacuate these areas from the Kurdish Peshmerga forces, stressing that “Forming the Dijla Operation Command is a constitutional right for the Iraqi Government.”

In a statement received by Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) on Wednesday, MP Jijo said “The Iraqi constitution authorized the Commanding General of the Iraqi Armed Forces to form the Dijla Operations Command and its mobilization in all Iraqi territories, including Kurdistan Region,” noting that “The DOC was formed for patriotic purposes.”

“Rejection of the Kurds for the DOC is unconstitutional and against the aspiration of the Iraqis,” he added.

“The minorities, including the Izidi community in Nineveh province suffer a lot due to control of the Kurdish forces on the territories of these minorities in Nineveh and other provinces,” he concluded.
