Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Iraqi National Alliance, Ibraheem al-Jaafary, visited the parliament Speaker, Osama al-Nijaifi, to discuss the necessity of responding to the legitimate and constitutional demonstrators’ demands.
A statement by the parliament received by IraqiNews.com on Tuesday cited “Jaafary met Nijaifi on Monday night where they discussed the political updates and the necessity of adhering to the legitimate and constitutional demonstrators’ demands.”
“The two sides discussed Jaafary’s initiative to settle the crisis,” the statement added, noting that “Jaafary consoled Nijaifi for the death of one of his relatives.”
Earlier, a statement by Jaafary’s office cited “Jaafary visited Nijaifi at the latter’s residence in Baghdad to consoled him over the death of his niece, asking the Almighty to show mercy for the dead and to please his family with patience.”
“The two sides discussed the latest political developments and stressed the necessity of the continuity of the meetings among the political sides to preserve the unity of the Iraqi people,” the statement concluded.
