Janabi urges MPs to attend Thursday parliament session to ensure quorum

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The leader within the Iraqiya Slate called MPs to attend Thursday parliament session to ensure the quorum that is necessary for endorsing the amendments of the Provincial Councils elections law where the Federal Court rejected some of its articles.

He stated to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com) “Ensuring the quorum is important to endorse these amendments to avoid postponing the next PCs elections.”

“Conducting the elections is a constitutional duty that could not be abandoned according to the constitution that granted a prosperous life for all Iraqis,” he mentioned.

He expressed his hope for “The parliament to accomplish this task and to respond to the request of the Independent High Electoral Commission that looks for endorsing the amendments to start its duties normally without impediments.”

It is worth mentioning that the parliament failed in endorsing the amendments of the PCs elections law many times.
