Khamenei: Iraq is able to defeat terrorism

 

On Tuesday, the Supreme Leader of the Islamic Revolution in Iran Ali Khamenei, in his meeting with Iraqi Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi, confirmed that Iraqi forces are able to defeat “terrorism”.

Khamenei stressed that a strong Iraq as an significant country in the region has a paramount importance for the Islamic Republic of Iran, declaring the support of Tehran for the new Iraqi government.

Prime Minister Haider Al-Abadi arrived to the Iranian capital Tehran on Monday night (20 October 2014) in his first official visit since taking over the presidency of the government, where he was received, at the Mehrabad airport in Tehran, by Assistant of Foreign Minister of Iran for Arab and African Affairs, Hussein Abdel Allahaan. Abadi met during this visit the President of the Islamic Republic of Iran Hassan Rohani.
