Kobler worried about recent surge of violence in Iraq

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The UN Secretary General’s Special Representative for Iraq, Martin Kobler, strongly condemned the series of terrorist attacks that targeted characters and residential areas in Kirkuk and Tuz Khormatu district besides other parts in Iraq which resulted in killing and injuring dozens.

Kobler said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com on Wednesday “What worries me, in particular, is that the escalation of the armed attacks in the disputed areas would increase the tensions there.”

UN SGSRI urged all the “Iraqi political sides to bear their responsibility in calming down the tensions and resort to peaceful means in coping with the problems, expressing his warm condolences for the casualties’ families and wishes of urgent recovery for the wounded persons.”

It is worth mention that a number of Kirkuk areas and Tuz Khurmatu district were targeted by bombings of car bombs, IEDs and armed attacks resulted in killing and injuring dozens mostly civilians.
