Kurdish MP expects security breaches to continue

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The member of the Parliamentary Committee of Security and Defense, MP Hasan Jihad, of the Kurdistani Alliance stressed “The necessity of bringing a change within the leadership of security forces and to upgrade the security plans in the areas that are subject to the attacks.”

Speaking to Iraqi News (IraqiNews.com), he said “The Parliamentary Committee of Security and Defense held several meetings with the security leaders and presented some recommendations but the Operations Command did not adhere to these recommendations in confronting terrorism.”

“This crucial part in the State witnesses no change in the current stage,” he added.

“There must be essential changes and reforms within the security forces like strengthening the Intelligence Department,” he continued saying.

“I think there is no connection between the announcement of the death sentence against the judicially wanted Vice-President, Tariq al-Hashimi, and the recent bombings,” he mentioned.

“Terrorism exists and will continue in the near future,” he concluded.
