Kurdish official accuses Maliki of creating crises

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The head of the Foreign Relations within the Kurdistan Regional Government, Falah Mustafa, accused the Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki of “creating crisis to cover failure of his government,” demanding him to “Focus on developing his government performance to achieve the ambitions of Iraqi People.”

In a press statement, Mustafa held the Central Government responsible for “Continuous violence and security deterioration as well as arouse of sectarianism in addition to imposing military solution on political rivals.”

“The current protests in Anbar province represent a reaction for storming in the residence of the Finance Minister, Rafi al-Esawi, and arresting his guards,” Mustafa said, stressing that “Since the US Troops’ withdrawal Maliki started to create troubles with different officials such as the Vice-President Tariq al-Hashimi, Governor of the Central Bank of Iraq and now the Minister of Finance Rafi al-Esawi.”

He mentioned “The Kurdistani Alliance and the Iraqiya Slate do not have intentions to withdraw from the current Iraqi Government because we plan to make the changes from within rather than outside the government through adhering to constitution and implementing former agreements.”

“We have concerns that Maliki tries to control the power and authority and we have said that the whole political process is going to the wrong direction which would not serve Iraqis or achieves their goals of stability and prosperity,” Mustafa concluded.
