Legal Committee shows concerns over private amnesty issued by Maliki

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Parliamentary Legal Committee showed concerns over the decisions of the private amnesty issued by the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki and ratified by the Vice-President, Khudhir al-Khuzaiye.

The Deputy Head of the Committee, Amir al-Kinani, stated in a press conference “We are concerned over the decisions of the private amnesty issued by the Premier, Nouri al-Maliki and ratified by the Vice-President, Khudhir al-Khuzaiye.”

“These decisions include Saudi, Jordanian and Tunisian prisoners where Maliki assured that they arrived in Iraq to perform some terrorist attack and they are involved in shedding the Iraqi blood,” he added.

“We do not know the justifications over releasing them and whether the government is being extorted by those countries,” he pointed out, calling the government to “Stop issuing such decisions.”

Earlier, some sources assured that Maliki issued a private amnesty decision for 17 Saudi prisoners.
