Majid calls to constitutionally clarify hosting Kirkuk Governor by KR parliament

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Yasin Majid, of the State of Law Coalition called the presidency, parliament and the government to constitutionally clarify hosting Kirkuk Governor by the parliament of Kurdistan Region.

Majid stated in a press statement “The parliament of Kurdistan Region hosted Kirkuk Governor on last Sunday over the latest updates and Dijla Operations Command where I want to know about the stance of Kirkuk Provincial Council, the parliament and the government over this constitutional breach because the Iraqi parliament is the federal one and Kirkuk is one of the federal provinces.”

“We hope the President, Jalal Talabani, as being the preserver of the constitution, to clarify the visit of Kirkuk Governor to the political bureau of the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan,” he concluded.

Earlier, the parliament of KR hosted Kirkuk Governor, Najim al-Din Abdul Karim, to discuss the security situation in the province and the existence of Dijla OC.
