Maliki accuses politicians of joining sectarianism spate for personal benefits

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Premier, Nouri al-Maliki accused some politicians of joining the sectarianism trend for personal benefits, warning from seriousness of the sectarian escalation.

In his speech at the International Islamic Conference for Convergence held in Baghdad on Saturday “This conference represents historical chance in light of the critical situation experienced by the Islamic nation,” noting “The clergymen hold responsibility for fighting the deviant notions since the security forces and use of force cannot eliminate the sectarian agitation and deviant notions which aim to hit the country.”

Maliki added “The sectarianism is great danger facing the Islamic nation and its escalation would befall the entire region, hence the Muslims bear the responsibility in giving the true image of the Islam and stand against the sectarianism.”
