(IraqiNews.com) On Thursday, Vice President Nuri al-Maliki called on the United Nations to intervene to stop the air strikes and military operations in Yemen within al-Hazm Storm operation, and urged the political parties to exercise maximum restraint and evoke the supreme interest of the Yemeni nation.

Maliki said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com, “We are following with deep concern the security situation in Yemen and we condemn the use of military force instead of help to promote dialogue between the Yemeni,” adding that, “This level of violence as Yemen witnesses an internal crisis and a war on terrorism will further complicate matters and expand the crises in the region. ”

Maliki also called for the United Nations to “intervene immediately and stop the air raids and all military action in Yemen,” arguing all political parties to “exercise maximum restraint and adherence to national solutions and evoke the supreme interest of Yemen and its nation, as well as to engage seriously and responsibly in peaceful dialogues to find a safe way out of the current crisis.”
