Maliki inspect on ground efforts to address floods caused by heavy rains in Baghdad

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Iraqi Prime Minister, Nouri al-Maliki, urged to speed up addressing the damages caused by the heavy rains that fell on last Tuesday.

A statement by Maliki’s office cited on Wednesday “Maliki conducted a field tour to some areas in Baghdad to observe on the ground the process of addressing the damages that yesterday’s rain caused in streets and residential areas.”

He called “the municipal departments to mobilize all the required efforts to return situations to normal.”

For its part, the Seismology Organization announced the amounts of rains which fell on last Tuesday in Baghdad is the heaviest since thirty years.
