Maliki: ISIL crime against Christian citizens requires whole world to stand by IraqBaghdad (IraqiNews.com) Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki said that “The crime of the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant terrorists against Christian citizens requires the world to stand by Iraq to confront them.”

He said in a statement received by IraqiNews.com “What the ISIL gangs are doing against our citizens, Christians in the Nineveh province and the attacks that targeted the churches and houses of worship in areas that came under their control, undoubtedly reveal the criminal nature of the terrorist and extremist groups that pose danger to the humanitarian legacy and heritage through the centuries.”

Maliki confirmed “The ISIL terrorists assert, through these crimes, their true identity and reveal the deceiving nature of the allegations made here and there, talking about the existence of the so-called rebels or others in these provinces.”

“As we call on state agencies to provide all the necessities of life to these dear citizens who lived in safety and peace in Nineveh province and other Iraqi provinces hundreds of years ago, we call on the whole world to tighten the siege on them and stand as one line to confront them,” he mentioned.

Maliki appealed “The committee set up by the Council of Ministers to take care of the affairs of displaced people and provide them with the necessary needs and to get access to all displaced persons as soon as possible.”

It is worth mentioning that hundreds of Christian families fled yesterday morning to safe areas in the province of Nineveh and the Kurdistan Region due to the threats of the Islamic State of Iraq and Levant terrorists where they announced that Christians in Mosul must convert, pay a tax, leave, or face execution in the coming days them.
