Maliki: Our visit to Jordan to positively affects mutual relations

Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) The Premier, Nouri al-Maliki, announced signing a comprehensive agreement with the Jordanian government to develop the mutual relations in all fields.

A statement by Maliki’s office received by IraqiNews.com cited “Maliki met the King of the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan, Abdullah II bin al-Hussein, on Monday and they discussed the mutual relations and the political updates in Iraq and the region where the stressed the necessity of maintaining the bilateral relations due to the current regional situation.”

“After finishing their meeting, the two sides held a press conference to discuss the resolutions of their meeting and the signed agreements,” the statement added.

The statement quoted Maliki, as saying “Our visit to Jordan will positively affect the interest of the peoples of the two countries,” describing it as “Very important that will improve these relations in all fields.”

The statement pointed out “Maliki signed a comprehensive agreement with Jordan comprises installing an oil pipeline through Aqaba Gulf to transport one Million oil barrel daily in addition to installing another gas pipeline.”

“The agreement stressed the necessity of consolidating the cooperation in the transportation field by linking the two countries by railways,” the statement concluded.
