Masum, Egyptian FM discuss bilateral relations

Baghadad (IraqiNews.com) President Fuad Masum received on Monday, September 15th, the Egyptian Foreign Minister Sameh Shoukry and his accompanying delegation, at the headquarters of the Iraqi embassy in Paris, in the presence of Foreign Minister Dr. Ibrahim al-Jaafari.

A statement by the Patriotic Union of Kurdistan received by IraqiNews.com cited “The Egyptian Minister delivered President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi’s message to president Masum, expressing his wish of peace and stability for Iraq.”

“During the meeting both sides discussed the political and security situation and the activities of terrorist in Iraq and the region. The president praised the role of Egypt in the Arab world and efforts to combat terrorism,” the statement added.

“He stressed that relations between the two countries has always been strong, pointing out that “we look forward to further develop and strengthen these relations for the benefit of the two countries.  President of the Republic expressed appreciation for Egypt’s participation in the Paris conference to combat terrorism in Iraq.  President Masum asked Egyptian Foreign Minister to deliver his warm greetings to  Egyptian President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi. /End/
