(IraqiNews.com) Baghdad – On Wednesday, Iraqi President Fuad Masum met the British Foreign Secretary Philip Hammond and his accompanying delegation in al-Salam Palace in Baghdad, while emphasized Iraq’s urgent need for an international support in order to proceed with its reconstruction plans and develop its economy.

Masum also pointed out that Iraq is keen to develop its relations with the United Kingdom to include all political, economic and cultural fields to serve the interests of the two countries.

The presidential media office said in a statement followed by IraqiNews.com, “The two sides discussed a number of regional and international issues, as well as the victories achieved by Iraq against terrorism.”

The statement added, “The Iraqi president also praised the support of the United Kingdom to Iraq through its participation in the international coalition against terrorism, as well as its humanitarian aid to Iraq.”
