Baghdad (IraqiNews.com) MP, Aziz al-Mayahi, of the White bloc criticized the endorsement of the law of Limiting the Premier’s terms to two by the parliament.

In a press statement received by IraqiNews.com on Sunday, Mayahi said “The parliament proved that it is not familiar with the laws and the republic systems in the world when it voted on the law draft of limiting the terms of the three presidencies, which we did not hear about in all the countries except Iraq.”

“The PM is an employee assigned by the parliament and it observes his and his cabinet where his performance is evaluated regularly as it is followed in the systems of the world in order not to have monopoly of authority,” he added, noting that “The procedure of the parliament is different because the President in Iraq is not elected by the Iraqi people which makes the parliament as the one that create new laws that are never been existed.”

“This procedure is unconstitutional because it is against the will of the Iraqis and it is completely rejected,” he concluded.
